About Argo
Generations of
exceptional craftsmanship.
Since 1947, the tools have changed — the standard hasn’t. We’re a Montréal manufacturing legacy, and we act like it.
The long way here
Seventy-nine years,
one address book of happy customers.
- 1947
Founded in Montréal
Argo Machine Tools opens its doors in post-war Montréal, building a reputation one precisely machined part at a time.
- 1970s–90s
The CNC transition
The shop retools from manual craftsmanship to computer numerical control, carrying decades of machinist judgment into a new era.
- 2000s
Going Swiss
Argo commits to Swiss-type sliding-headstock technology — the machining discipline built for small, complex, unforgiving parts.
- Today
19 CNC machines strong
From our floor in Saint-Léonard, 10 Swiss-type lathes plus full turning and milling cells serve aerospace, medical and electronics customers across North America.
What we hold to
Three things we’re
measured on.
Precision
Not a slogan — a philosophy. Every part is machined to print and inspected before it ships, whether it’s one prototype or the ten-thousandth repeat.
Reliability
Quoted lead times are commitments, not estimates. Customers come back to us because delivery dates hold — even on short notice.
Communication
You will always know where your job stands. Questions get answered by the people actually making your parts, in plain language, fast.
